Eric’s instruments are unquestioningly one of a kind. The bass has its own version of an acoustic sound; it doesn’t try to copy the sound of an upright bass but instead forges it’s very own with an extreme versatility. It can sound like a drum; it can sound like a forest; it can sound like a Carnatic voice. Playing this bass with effects or direct is incredible because of its wide range of dynamic tonal colours - it's also the most physically balanced electric bass I’ve ever played. The shape allows it to sit at the perfect spot and also happens to be continually visually inspiring. There isn’t another one like it. Eric, as an artist-luthier, is an open-minded risk-taker and collaborator and his pragmatic skilled optimism is paying off through his instruments. He combines the rare skills of a deep listener with a resourceful palette of building, well, basically anything. I look forward to all of his future experiments.
